Based on analyzing the existing problems in packaging safety of railway dangerous goods transportation, the authors divided the potential source of packaging failure accidents into three categories: the unsafe behavior of people, unsafe state of matter and deficient management. Qualitative analysis based on hazard identification and fault tree analysis are discussed for the sake of a more comprehensive discovery of crucial dangerous factors. Finally, some improvement measures are put forward to increase the packaging safety of railway dangerous goods transportation.
