The new method of capacity analysis at unsignalized intersections was developed in the authors' study for mixed traffic condition in developing countries (e.q. Indonesia) where the drivers' behavior, traffic composition, level of roadside activities, etc. were different from that of developed countries. The new method called "conflict technique "is based on the interactions between average speed and flow of conflict streams (six streams and six conflict points) considered. All possible conflict streams were considered simultaneously and the interactions were taken into account through empirical regression models. Six conflict groups (with six subject streams) were considered for all intersections to obtain the relationship between speed and flow of conflict streams. This phenomenon would measure a critical speed of traffic streams at the intersection when the capacity is reached. This method would measure any relationship between speed and flow of each stream of traffic and speed and flow within the group of conflict. The Method could provide a new technique to determine a critical speed of unsignalized intersection under mixed traffic flow where the capacity/maximum flow is reached.
