Infrastructure resilience is the ability to absorb, adapt to, and rapidly recover from potentially disruptive or destructive events. This paper proposes a resilience assessment method that mainly considers the urban rail transit’s supply and demand characteristics. The quality function of the entrance passenger flow can be quantified with the extra waiting time in a station, the quality function of the section passenger flow can be quantified as the ratio of the line’s transport capacity to the section volume. Based on the historical passenger flow data, real-time automatic fare collection system data, the system’s through capacity, and line’s transport capacity, the resilience index of the entrance passenger flow and the section passenger flow can be calculated to show the system’s adaptive ability and rapidly recovery ability after a disruption. Finally, a case study based on Nanjing Metro Line 1 with the real passenger flow data is presented. The result show that the proposed method can effectively evaluate the resilience of urban rail transit passenger’s fluctuation.
