This paper presents a non-linear bus scheduling optimization model in order to achieve coordinated scheduling for rail transit and bus transit at transfer stations. Based on the diversity of transfer time and the vehicle capacity, the author considers to establish a model, which can minimize the total waiting time of passengers. Then an orderly inter-code genetic algorithm is designed to solve the optimization model and minimize the waiting time of passengers. At last, the proposed model is applied to a metro station in the city of Xi’an, China. The results are obtained by using improved genetic algorithm for solving the non-uniform grid schedule, which show that the total waiting time is reduced by 28.29%. Consequently, it indicates that the optimization model is validated and scientific. It can help to decrease the waiting time and improve the transfer efficiency.
