This paper presents a comprehensive state-of-the-art review of commuters’ satisfaction with the attributes of transfer facilities at railway stations, aiming to pinpoint the factors that significantly impact commuters’ satisfaction and the decision to choose rail travel for commuting. The growing demand for efficient and seamless multimodal transportation and transfer facilities has become critical in shaping the overall commuter experience. This review synthesizes existing literature, centering on eight key factors influencing satisfaction, including accessibility, information, ticketing, important services and facilities, transfer environment, safety and security, parking services, and comfort. Additionally, 38 supplementary attributes were examined alongside various measures implemented in different countries to enhance transfer quality. The findings provide valuable insights for policymakers, researchers, and service providers seeking to improve Commuters’ satisfaction and the effectiveness of transfer infrastructure.
