The index of generalized traffic demand is proposed from the property of trip time and space. Considering the factors of trip mode, trip distance, trip velocity, and a generalized traffic demand model is developed; which can weigh the size of traffic demand per hour. The corresponding general traffic demand model of transportation model is developed according to the characteristics of motor vehicle and pedestrian. The paper takes example for a given city, the generalized traffic demand model correlative to the impact factor is developed, the relation between traffic demand and factors is analyzed. Paper puts forward the countermeasure decreasing the urban transportation problem using an average case analysis. From the conclusion, the two most obvious factors which affect the gross of general traffic demand is the structure of activity patterns and the average trip velocity, increased proportion of bus transit, commuter transportation is most obvious factor to decrease total car trip, increased speed private car and is the most obvious factor to decrease the total car trip.
