Comparative evaluation of translunar injection accuracies achievable with various updating procedures and state-of-art inertial guidance systems; techniques for computing performance errors due to error sources associated with guidance hardware are presented; estimation theory is applied, using radar tracking as independent source of measurement to improve estimate of vehicle performance; comparison of translunar injection precision, attainable by updating on parking orbit, is made using ideal estimation, estimation at each tracking station, and recursive estimation; numerical results are presented.
