Formulation of mathematical model, using aerodynamic and hydrodynamic data for Mariner-Class vessel and computer solution; results indicate that ship in bow wind tends, even without autopilot system, to maintain its original course, with perturbation in yaw inducing yaw oscillations, convergence of which depends upon magnitude of relative wind velocity; beam wind creates greater difficulties; increase in rudder size improves controllability.
