On 80-mile territory between Toledo, Ohio, and Elyria, New York Central Railroad replaced 3-indication semaphores with 4-indication color light signals, increasing braking distances; power supply system previously in service used without change; 440-v, 60-cycle, single phase power circuit is carried on two No. 4 weatherproof copper line wires; at each location there is G.R.S. 440-110-v line transformer used for feeding signal lamps and rectifiers.
