New method of cargo handling suitable for inland waterways; brief illustrated description of prototype Bantam Propulsion unit, designed and built by E. C. Jones and Son (Brentford); propulsion unit, Bantam 1, is of all welded steel construction, 30 ft in length by 12 ft beam by 5 ft 6 in. depth, and is powered by 100-bhp Ruston Diesel engine of VPHM type fitted with 2 1/2.1 S.L.M. oil operated reverse reduction gear remotely controlled from wheelhouse.
