Account of installation and equipment of new electrified lines of Bombay, Baroda and Central India Railway at Bombay; electric energy is generated by Tata group of hydroelectric stations in Western Ghats, as 3-phase current, at periodicity of 50 cycles, transmission from power stations to receiving station being effected at pressure of 110,000 volts and retransmitted to substations at 22,000 volts between phases; substations convert this into direct current at normal pressures of 1500 volts, which is then fed into overhead system; rolling stock; control gear.
