With travel on transcontinental air lines it has become necessary for airplane to be in constant touch with ground in order to maintain schedules and insure safety of passengers and equipment; research of communication department of Boeing Air Transport has led to development of successful transmitting and receiving apparatus which is described and illustrated with diagrams.
