General Dynamics, Fort Worth, developed models to measure quantitatively contribution of reliability and maintainability to military aircraft availability, measure support assets to achieve inherent availability of fixed quantity of aircraft, measure airborne effectiveness as function of reliability, operational concept and mission requirements, isolate problem areas, and predict improvements in operational capability for corrective action decision; models were developed for B-58 program in 1962 and are now being used for F-111 program.
