Analytical and flight simulator studies were conducted to examine effects on selection of optimum longitudinal control sensitivity of oscillatory mode dynamics, certain stability derivatives, and level of turbulence; improved method for presenting optimum control sensitivity criteria is discussed which has promise as means for correlating flight-test data for aircraft having widely different aerodynamic, mass, and inertia characteristics; further studies are planned at United Aircraft Corp in which approach will be used to develop methods for presenting criteria for minimum satisfactory control sensitivity and control power.
