Methods of achieving crashworthiness of aircraft in general are discussed; specific conclusions are drawn with regard to design loads for occupant restraint systems; "programmed break" concept for fuselage of large aircraft is presented, and additional research which is needed to provide increased survival in accidents is suggested.
