Problems, shortcomings and requirements of SST (supersonic transport) are discussed in terms of hypothetical supersonic flight; as alternative to SST, safe system for aerial transfer of passengers from one aircraft to another is proposed consisting of mainline service running west to east, possibly continuing around world, sub-mainline service, running north to south and south to north, and east to west, between major high density passenger traffic points; requirements of terminal service or mainline/sub-mainline transfer aircraft; feasibility study of aerial transfer concept and design of suitable aircraft is urged.
