Vessel was built and engined by Earle's Shipbuilding and Engineering Co., Hull, for Mersey Shipping Co.; paper transported by Markland is manufactured and made into rolls 6 ft. long by 3 ft. in diam.; each roll weighs 1500 lb. and vessel carries total weight of 3805 tons of paper; propelling machinery consists of two sets of triple-expansion engines of 2000 i.hp. constructed by Earles Shipbuilding and Engineering Co.
