More profitable fleet operation from maintenance standpoint is possible through use of newly developed test equipment and quick service test procedures; areas to consider for peak operating efficiency of gasoline fuel engine are -- engine, fuel and ignition system, starting and charging system; functions of each area and assortment of test instruments required; sequence of area tests of leading car manufacturer's service programs is divided into 6 steps which are outlined; final checkout and recommendations made.
