Hydrofoil ship Victoria, built by Maryland Shipbuilding and Drydock Co for Northwest Hydrofoil Lines, is for service between Seattle, Wash, and Victoria, BC; trip will take 90 min as against 40 min for regular airline and 4 1/2-5 hr for ferry; length oa 65 ft, hull beam 16 ft, maximum span of foils 30 ft 6 in., full-load displacement 37 tons; 2 General Electric gas turbines are each rated 1000 shp and weigh only 320 lb.
