Degree of precision to be expected in judgments of glare discomfort is investigated using method of pair-comparison; previous work indicated that on 19 occasions out of 20, any one observer would judge glare from installation within 3 units of his mean judgment on Glare Index scale; this is confirmed by study; threshold glare difference, below which correct choice of more glaring installation is obtained only by chance, appears to be interval of one unit on Glare Index scale.
