Passenger liner Shalom of 25,320 tons gross was built by Chantiers de l'Atlantique for Zim Israel Navigation Co; length oa 628 ft, molded breadth 81 ft 4 1/2 in., depth of verandah deck 66 ft 7 in., dw 6200 tons on draft of 26 ft 6 1/2 in.; accommodation is provided for 72 passengers in first class and 1018 in tourist class; twin-screw 25,000 shp CEM-l'Atlantique geared turbines, associated with three Foster Wheeler D-type boilers, are installed; diagram shows longitudinal section.
