Tanker of 56,405 tons dw was built for Seahawk Shipping Co of Panama by Ishikawajima-Harima Heavy Industries Ltd; construction costs were reduced by using new hull design incorporating bulb at forefoot in association with block coefficient of 0.835 and new arrangement of only 11 tanks for cargo oil; other features are cambered deck, bow jet system, superstructure arrangement and stern gear system; vessel is powered by single-plane steam turbine; length oa 790 ft 9 5/8 in., breadth molded 103 ft 11 3/4 in., depth molded 56 ft, draft molded 38 ft 3 1/4 in.; service output of machinery 18,500 shp.
