How adaption of flat cars for movement of gypsum products has been responsible for return of important traffic to railroads is illustrated by experience with builders of Leavittown housing project on Long Island, NY; to enable builder to adapt speedy fork lift unloading methods to rail shipments, standard 53-ft railroad flat car with built-up ends was used carrying loads up to 100,000 lb; substantial portion of project's total gypsum board requirements are now moving by rail.
