Current trends indicate following developments will be applied to low horsepower engines in near future: non-icing fuel metering equipment, exhaust mufflers, modified controllable propellers, geared engines, and maybe eventually multi-blade controllable propellers to reduce airplane noise level, supercharging in engines of 300 hp and over.
