Planar motion of satellite containing damping mechanism is considered; it is shown that for small dampers motion eventually becomes nearly identical with periodic solution of undamped case; if state of satellite can be expressed by point inside appropriate limiting manifold for undamped motion then, for small damping, subsequent motion should remain stable and approach limit cycle; thus limits of stability determined for undamped satellite may be regarded as approximately valid for lightly damped configuration.
