Second largest Diesel tanker built in America, constructed by Sun Shipbuilding Co, Chester, Pa, for Standard Oil Co of New Jersey; length oa 547 ft 2 3/4 in.; breadth 70 ft; depth 40 ft; deadweight capacity of 17,950 tons is based on summer freeboard draft of 30 ft 4 1/2 in.; propelled by single Sun-Doxford 5-cyl Diesel engine with 32 in. bore and combined stroke of 94 in., developing 7500 hp at 92 rpm.
