Motors for use in booster stages of launch vehicles in post-Saturn era may be about 300 in. in diam and weigh 6,000,000 lb; machines to transport such large weights do not exist; paper attempts to determine most economical logistic mode; following modes are evaluated -- pneumatic tire machines, crawlers, Hovair, cranes, and marine vessels; it is found that most economical logistic plan can be implemented with two delivery barges, one horizontal transporter at factory, and one horizontal and one vertical transporter at MILA (Merritt Island Launch Area); Hovair transporter is more economical and therefore recommended.
