Signal strength data taken from ground station automatic gain control records and vans instrumented for true signal strength recording are analyzed to determine effects of transmitting through plasmas created by rocket exhausts of Saturn vehicle; effects from different missions are compared as function of altitude, aspect angle, and frequency of transmission; it is concluded that effects of plasmas created by LOX/RP-1 engines are negligible above altitude of 60 km.
