Fully automated hump yard capable of handling 5000 cars/day; construction work involved laying 100 mi of track and building 53 bridges and level crossings; electronic devices used include analog computer, and teletype machines; "talkback" speakers, private-line telephone, and seven radio systems; there are 20 reception tracks, 121 sorting tracks, and two yards, one with six and one with seven tracks, for departures; access line is 37 mi long.
