Bodies of revolution with minimum inviscid pressure drag are derived using hypersonic small-disturbance approximaton to shock-expansion method; solutions are examined for each of six optimization critera based on length, diameter, surface area, and volume; by use of method developed by A.Miele, each optimization problem is reduced to that of numerically minimizing product of nondimensional integrals; minimum-drag coefficients and corresponding optimum body shapes are computed over range of hypersonic Mach number similarity parameter at specific-heat ratios of 7/5 and 5/3; discussion of minimum drag solutions.
