"Space" defined as environment for man and present day operations are carried on in "space" as far as man's physiology is concerned; concept of "space equivalent" altitudes; problem of oxygen, total pressure, cosmic and solar radiation, weightlessness, and sealed cabins as means of protection; psychological problems seem to be more formidable than physiological problems.
