Sheltered-water light hovercraft prototype CC-5 is direct outgrowth of CC-4 and employs 240-hp Rolls Royce LV8 gasoline engine, radiator oil cooler, transmission and fans; principal change in lift/propulsion system over that of CC-4 is that fans are now separated in duty; dynamically, CC-5 is half-scale model of proposed passenger/car ferry which would have length of 60 ft and gross weight of 18 tons, of which up to 40% would be payload; other details and cut-away drawing are shown.
