Fuel system of engine, which powers BAC 111 and Trident aircraft, was outcome of engine control and philosophy and design technique differing from previous practice; description of design philosophy applied and system which uses rotating metering valves controlled directly from engine signals together with variable-stroke fuel pump which incorporates improved servo control; integration of pilot's full-range speed governor with acceleration control produces isochronous governor performance without need for use of additional reset devices; system is accurate over range of fuels, easily calibrated, and tolerates fuel contamination.
