In course of braking experiments, cab was heavily braked on dry surface from speed of about 60 mi/hr; theoretical study of incident suggested that overturning could be explained by car being braked within small critical range of brake pressures, rear wheels losing adhesion and causing car to spin, this building up sideways acceleration and rotation in roll; study also showed that two other factors might be expected to increase tendency to overturn -- if braking were reduced as soon as most of car's weight came on to off-side wheels or if brake fade occurred at front wheels.
