Dosimetry used on Gemini and that designed for use on Apollo are described; radiation doses received by crews varied between less than 10 mrad on Gemini VIII mission and 779 mrad on Gemini X mission; particle spectrometers were flown on Gemini IV and VII missions to compare dose calculations to measurements; radiation instrumentation for Apollo consists of particle spectrometer, rate-meters, integrating dosimeters, and passive dosimeters, designed to measure absorbed dose (rad) rather than effective radiation dose (rem); calculated doses in Apollo vehicle are presented for intense events in last solar cycle.
