Laboratory and road tests of headlighting on dry and wet road surfaces with various types of head-lamp beam; effects obtained are shown pictorially and data are given statistically; results obtained show that depressing beam of depressible-beam head lamp, when asphalt or concrete road surface is wet, greatly increases apparent intensity of beam above road, evidently due to reflection from road surface, and that this intensity extends far above horizontal height of head lamp, thereby defeating object of depressing beam.
