Type of flow is associated with thrust vector control of rocket motors by gas injection, and occurs when gaseous fuel is injected into supersonic burner; analytic model of flow-field was constructed in which conservation of momentum is applied to control volume at jet nozzle exit; series of flat-plate experiments was conducted with normal, sonic jets at external flow Mach numbers of 2.61, 3.50, and 4.54; comparisons of trends predicted by analysis with two-dimensional force data from experiments and other sources showed good agreement; results of correlation of data obtained from experiments with finite-span slots.
