Paraglider is triangular wing using flexible membrane as aerodynamic lifting surface; membrane is attached to frame constructed from 2 leading edge booms, and center keel, connected at wing apex; during entry, light wing loadings available result in peak radiation-equilibrium temperatures below temperature limits of existing materials, thus eliminating need for heavy ablative heat protection systems; aerodynamic analysis of parawing reveals lift/drag penalties due to poor wing-twist and chamber distributions; subsonic wing improvement program; significant improvements in lift/drag.
