Cross-channel ships have special features in their high speed, fine form, low deadweight and favorable distribution of weights; high speed-length ratio demands propelling power which is high in relation to displacement; block coefficient lies between 0.50 and 0.55, but hull weight is relatively high due to extensive superstructure required for accommodation; different motor and turbine vessels of class are considered, and various data are shown in diagrams and tables.
