Paper treats problem of oblateness effect on Earth satellites and ballistic missiles in terms of expected deviations in position prediction relative to ideal Keplerian orbit; closed form solutions in variations in radius, in-plane angle, and lateral displacement have following features -- easily instrumented in real time tracking and prediction systems; no restrictions on eccentricity, including orbits with escape velocities; and physical insight into oblateness effect on freeflight trajectories.
