Dynamics involved in over-all intercept mission, and IBM 7090 Fortran/Fap program designed to simulate variety of interceptors as means of evaluating performance of BAMBI (Ballistic Missile Boost Interception) system during entire 3-dimensional attack mission; pursuit- and proportional-navigation homing guidance and terminal phase of intercept are treated; simulation is designed to use all 6 degrees-of-freedom of interceptor, provide options for various sensing and control systems, use proportionate navigation law; passive interceptors conceived as launched from orbital platforms while targets are still in boost stage; sources of inaccuracies and errors in real hardware are simulated.
