Objections to findings of experiments made using this method are -- admittance values are questioned on grounds that acoustic losses in apparatus are not well enough understood for adequate corrections to be made, and relative acoustic losses are great enough that some propellants, known to produce oscillations in motors, burn stably in burner; first objection is largely removed by demonstrating that 3 different methods for operating burner and analyzing data give results in close agreement; method described provides means to study more stable propellants, thus removing second objection.
