Facility at Georgetown, British Guiana, is owned and operated by Demerara Sugar Terminals, Ltd; terminal is capable of loading sugar on to ship at 500 tph, taking in from barge or coaster at 200 tph, and from road vehicles at 100 tph; sugar can also be transferred at rate of 200 tph between 2 storage buildings having combined capacity of 40,000 tons.
