Paper is concerned with hydrodynamic design of two towed bodies, MOBY I and MOBY II, intended as experimental tools for program, carried out by Naval Research Establishment; design philosophy, selection of quantitative design objectives and procedures adopted are described and their steady-state performance predicted; considerations leading to design of MOBY III and MOBY IV are also discussed; summary of major features of these towed bodies, all of which are designed to use cable specified in table.
