Stressed-skin construction is now almost universally used in modern aeroplane planes. A technique for the stressing of “tubes” of this type, which seemed to offer almost insuperable obstacles a year or two ago, is gradually being evolved. We feel that the article here printed will be of assistance to drawing office staffs in dealing with one particular aspect of the problem. Another point, that of the effect of introducing openings into the covering of a plane, is dealt with on other pages of this issue by Mr. D. Williams, and we hope that the two together will be of help to all those concerned
