In other examples, stowing the refueling boom (110) includes flying (404) the refueling boom 0 (110) towards a fuselage (120), determining (406) that second transition conditions have been met, switching (410) the hoist actuator state mode, and raising (412) a refueling boom structure (116) of the refueling boom (110) with the hoist (114).
