A bridge-type gear engaging and disengaging brushless hub motor is characterized in that a tire is arranged outside an aluminum alloy hub ring of a hub wheel, a large inner gear ring is arranged inside the aluminum alloy hub ring, a hub shaft is a bridge hub shaft formed by symmetrically connecting a left half shaft, a right half shaft, a left diamond support, a right diamond support, an upper guide connecting shaft and a lower guide connecting shaft on a same line, the upper end of a sliding shaft sleeve carrier is provided with a gear shaft sleeve, the lower end of the sliding shaft sleeve carrier is provided with an armature shaft sleeve, the gear shaft sleeve and the armature shaft sleeve are mounted on the upper and lower guide connecting shafts, respectively, a rotating handle is manually rotated, a wire rope is remotely controlled, the sliding shaft sleeve carrier moves side to side, an outer-rotor brushless motor is arranged on the armature shaft sleeve, a driving gear and an engaging-disengaging gear move side to side, and the engaging-disengaging gear engages with or disengages from the large inner gear ring. The bridge-type gear engaging and disengaging brushless hub motor has the advantages that contradictions caused by uncontrollability of drive engaging-disengaging of current various hub motors are effectively solved, sliding and reverse charging functions are perfectly unified, idle resistance of the hub motor is lower than that with an overrun clutch, and the hub motor allows an electric bicycle out of power to be ridden as easily as an ordinary bicycle.
