The invention discloses a hybrid power system for an automobile. The hybrid power system comprises an engine, a power battery, an electric energy manager electrically connected with the power battery, a first motor connected with the engine and electrically connected with the electric energy manager, a second motor electrically connected with the electric energy manager and connected to a rear drive axle through a single-stage speed reducer, a speed changer connected to the first motor through a main clutch, a planetary gear and a controller, wherein a planetary carrier of the planetary gear is connected with an output shaft of the speed changer, a gear ring of the planetary gear is connected to a front drive axle through a front clutch, a sun wheel of the planetary gear is connected to the second motor through a rear clutch, and the controller controls at least one of a group composed of the engine, the power battery, the first motor and the second motor to drive the whole automobile under the different working conditions of the automobile. The working conditions of the automobile include speed, SOC and load of the automobile. The invention further provides a hybrid power vehicle and a control method thereof.
