Provided is a startup control device for a hybrid vehicle, said device being capable of stabilizing and controlling the amount of torque transmitted by the clutch during engine startup. The startup control device for a hybrid vehicle is for a hybrid vehicle in which a first clutch (C1) is provided between an engine (Eng) and a motor-generator (MG), and engagement pressure is supplied to the first clutch (C1) from a line-pressure regulating valve provided to a hydraulic circuit (101) into which a mechanical oil pump (O/P) injects a working fluid. The startup control device for a hybrid vehicle is characterized in that a startup control unit for executing startup control in which the clutch (C1) is engaged, torque is input to the engine (Eng) and the engine (Eng) is started in response to an engine startup request while traveling in EV mode is provided with a startup determination unit (Step S2) that executes startup control when the transmission input torque (TQCVT) inputted to the belt-type continuously variable transmission (CVT) exceeds a predetermined set input torque on the basis of the pressure of the working fluid.
