Disclosed is a tire pressure monitoring system and a method for performing auto-location thereof that simply identifies the position of a tire pressure monitoring module in a direct scheme tire pressure monitoring system to perform auto-location. The system comprises a tyre pressure induction module which is disposed on a wheel or a tyre and used for measuring the pressure of the tyre and the phase angle of the wheel; a wheel rotation induction module which is located on a vehicle body and used for measuring the rotation of the wheel and providing the phase angle information of a second wheel; a control unit which receives a pulse string from the tyre pressure induction module and receiving the phase angle information of the second wheel during the transmission of the pulse string. Through the delay time, the phase angle information of any position is calculated and the phase angle information is compared with the phase angle information of the second wheel, thereby recognizing the position of the wheel where the tyre pressure induction module.
